Proofreading Academic Documents

Because of academic regulations, Busy Spider Proofreading has strict limits on what can be done when proofreading or editing academic documents. BSP will highlight and correct minor mistakes in spelling, punctuation, grammar to improve the readability of English-language writing (Level 1).

What BSP cannot do is make substantial improvements to any academic assignment. This includes suggestions for revision, checking factual accuracy, changing the order of sentences, or pointing out internal contradictions (Level 2 and above).

Some schools and universities ban the use professional proofreading services by students. In some cases, breaking this rule can result in reprimand, failure of the assignment, or even expulsion. Awareness of individual school and university codes of conduct is the responsibility of the client. BSP accepts no responsibility for consequences of clients failure to follow academic regulations.

On Legal Documents

Busy Spider Proofreading is not associated with any legal entities, such as courts, law offices, bar associations, or legal firms, and does not have any related qualifications. Therefore, BSP cannot and will not edit or proofread legal documents. This includes but is not limited to: Employment contacts, tenancy agreements, articles of association, wills, power of attorney documents, cohabitation agreements, waivers, or affidavits.
